The BfN Annual Conference is an exciting and informative event for our volunteers, parents, families and health professionals with an interest in breastfeeding and related topics.

It offers a unique opportunity to network with colleagues from across the UK. This year our fantastic line-up of speakers will include:

  • Prof. Vivette Glover, Perinatal Psychobiology, Imperial College London, Anxiety & Depression in pregnancy, breastfeeding and the effects on the child

  • Ruth Dennison, Doula & Director of 1-2-1 Doula & Breastfeeding Support Ltd, Supporting black women who breastfeed

  • Dr Natalie Shenker, Co-founder Human Milk Foundation, What's in human milk? Why does it matter?

  • Prof. Amy Brown, Professor Health, Policy & Social Sciences, Swansea University, Breastfeeding & maternal mental health

  • Prof. Sally Kendall, Community Nursing & Public Health, University of Kent, Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly study

Conference Costs

- Current registered BfN Member £15 early bird price (to rise to £20 after 31st August)

- Other Volunteer Peer Supporter (offering support to women for free) £35 (to rise to £40 after 31st August) and Friends of BfN/Drugs in Breastmilk

- Health Professional/Doula/Lactation Consultant etc. (receiving payment in their role) £40 early bird price (to rise to £50 after 31st August)

Ticket price includes lunch & all refreshments.

Demand at previous events has been extremely high therefore early booking is recommended in order to secure your place.

Networking Event - Friday 11th October, 7pm - 9pm

Following on from the successful event last year, another networking and social event will take place at The Parcel Yard in Kings Cross Station This offers the ideal opportunity to catch up and grab a bite to eat with others attending the Conference the following day.

Tickets for this event are priced at £15 per person, this includes food & soft drinks. Numbers are limited, so sign up quick in order to avoid disappointment!
